“Hairspray” comes to the Cobb Performing Arts Center just in time for your entertainment in Atlanta this weekend. Show times are available for January 16-18th.  The story takes place in 1962 and centers on a teenage girl whose only wish is to dance on the Corny Collins Show. When her dream finally comes true, her popularity at school goes up. She uses her new stardom to accomplish a variety of tasks including winning the heart of the high-school hunk and giving the queen teen a healthy dose of competition. A Broadway classic, Hairspray is a must-see for all ages that combines a great story and laughs you will not forget after your hair-do falls down! Anyone that has been on the downtown connector recently may have noticed the extravagant blue and yellow tent situated in Atlantic Station. This is the iconic tent for Cirque du Soleil, which is in town until March 1st with a new show called Kooza. Kooza mixes song, dance and acrobatics to tell the story of the Innocent, a melancholy loner searching for his place in the world. This performance has received an exceptional review from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who reported that Kooza reverts back to the basics of Cirque du Soliel.
