Now through June 7 check out Tradin’ Paint at Theatre in the Square in Marietta. Tradin’ Paint is about Darla Frye, a woman whose life is on the skids. She’s an auto parts clerk fraught with low self esteem, thanks to her boyfriend Coty, who only loves her for her fried chicken. Her saving grace is spending time at the Bristol Motor Speedway, where she befriends Lucky Tibbs, a stockcar racing team crew chief, and Dr. Halley Smoot, an out-of-place college professor. With encouragement from her new friends, Darla begins to take control of her own life. Come watch Darla’s journey in this comedy about racing and romance, destiny and dreams. Due to some language this play is recommended for those 14 and older. Members of the Smryna community invite you to join them for the 2009 City of Smryna Memorial Day Ceremony which will be held at the Cobb County 20th Century Veterans Memorial.  The ceremony which begins at 10:00 a.m. is a morning to honor and appreciate our nation’s commitment to peace through strength and sacrifice. The ceremony began in 2003 and each year a new design for the commorative lapel pin is approved by the Memorial Day Ceremony Committee and the lapel pins are given to attendees. Welcome Office of Child Support Services to Jefferson Station at Buggy Works! A division of the Georgia Department of Human Resources, the Office of Child Support Services recently signed a 10-year lease and relocated several of their offices to Jefferson Station located in historic East Point. The Office of Child Support Services is designed to help children by enforcing parental responsibility to pay  financial support. They have rented 29,000 square feet of the entire 70,000 square feet of “Class A” loft office space available and join the City of East Point which already has several office located at Jefferson Station.
