It is still not too late to begin training for this year’s Vinings Rotary Run for the Kids, a 5k and1k run/walk that will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 8 a.m. Registration for the run will remain open until Thursday, September 10. Cost for the race is as follows:

5k Run/Walk: $20

1 mile/Run/Walk $20

5k participants under 18: $10

Last year nearly 700 runners completed the course the travels from Mount Wilkerson to the Chattahoochee River Park. This year’s race will once again be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vinings with proceeds going to the Calvary Children’s Home, The Good Samaritan Health Center, the Vinings Rotary Charity Fund and other local charities. All registered participants will receive a much sought after race t-shirt. Runners are asked to park at the Overlook III building that faces 2859 Paces Ferry. For those too tired to make the journey back to the post-race party at the Vinings Jubilee after the race, there will be a bus on-site that will be happy to give you a lift. Like last year, awards will be given out to the top male and female finishers in numerous age categories. For more information on the race, visit www.viningsrotary.org.  For runners living at the Avignon at Vinings, any form of transportation for this event will not be needed, other than your legs of course. The luxury townhome condominiums that offer a slice of old school European design are just a hop, skip and jump from all of the festivities.
