Friday, September 5th, 2008

Fresh ProduceFresh produce in the midst of Buckhead? Thanks to the Peachtree Road Farmers Market, those living in Buckhead and the surrounding area are able to purchase fresh baked goods as well as fresh grown produce from April to October right in their backyard. And, if you were to purchase a luxury new condo at the Astoria at the Aramore, this would be your backyard, and you would be able to buy products from these local farmers every weekend through the season. Open every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, the Peachtree Road Farmers Market is an open-air venue where small Southeastern farmers and growers, regional prducers and purveyors of traditional foods and local craftspeople sell their products. If you love farm fresh produce, and what self-respecting Southerner doesn’t, then be sure to check out the Peachtree Road Farmers Market, which is hosted in the parking lot of the Cathedral of St. Phillip at 2744 Peachtree Street.

Regulars of this market know to look for fresh pasta, sauces and cheese from Via Elisa; baked goods from Sweet Auburn Bread Company; locally roasted coffee; and produce from several area farms. Regularly scheduled events feature local chefs demonstrating favorite methods for preparing fresh foods.

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity Coming to the High Museum

Friday, August 15th, 2008

A Terracotta Army OfficerThe High Museum of Art is already selling tickets for the exhibit that will come to the art museum later this fall. If you have not yet heard, China’s Terracotta Army will be on display in Atlanta from November 16, 2008 to April 19, 2009. This is such a tremendous opportunity for Atlanta residents that are interested in history and culture. The First Emperor exhibition is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the High that is expected to draw tourists from all over the East Coast.  This extraordinary exhibition is inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, and includes complete terracotta warrior figures. The famed terracotta army was discovered in 1974, but over the years ongoing research has revealed that his army stood guard over a vast underground palace. It represents one of the most important groups of works relating to the First Emperor ever to be loaned to the United States, and it is coming to Atlanta. (more…)

Atlanta Magazine’s “Restaurant of the Year” Next to Astoria

Monday, July 21st, 2008

imagesthumbnail.jpgAlthough the Buckhead location of the Astoria at Aramore has always been a top selling point, now that the neighboring restaurant Holeman and Finch Public House was voted “Restaurant of the Year” by Atlanta Magazine, condos and penthouses are sure to go even quicker. The restaurant is owned by Chef Linton Hopkin’s and is a great mix of unique dishes and a trendy, urban bar atmosphere. Focusing on a different type of Southern cuisine, this more upscale menu is definitely different in offering home made salami, pork belly and sugar doughnuts, but also has a few classic seafood and vegetable meals for the more traditional customer. The hand made and creative cocktails are a great experience and will not be found anywhere else in Atlanta. The Astoria is a perfect extension of Holeman and Finch’s creativity. Buyers have the creative freedom to customize their home by picking from an array of high end finishes to reflect their personal style. Options can turn the same condo from a modern, sleek urban “loft” feel, to a more tradition Southern home. The Astoria at the Aramore is near completion, and owner’s are now closer than ever to the best dining Atlanta has to offer.
