A Terracotta Army OfficerThe High Museum of Art is already selling tickets for the exhibit that will come to the art museum later this fall. If you have not yet heard, China’s Terracotta Army will be on display in Atlanta from November 16, 2008 to April 19, 2009. This is such a tremendous opportunity for Atlanta residents that are interested in history and culture. The First Emperor exhibition is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the High that is expected to draw tourists from all over the East Coast.  This extraordinary exhibition is inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, and includes complete terracotta warrior figures. The famed terracotta army was discovered in 1974, but over the years ongoing research has revealed that his army stood guard over a vast underground palace. It represents one of the most important groups of works relating to the First Emperor ever to be loaned to the United States, and it is coming to Atlanta. (more…)
