Atlanta: The Place to Be

Atlanta Skyline from Piedmont ParkIt’s official. The rest of the world has finally come to recognize what Atlantans have known for years,  this is one of the best cities in the country.

The Harris Poll, produced by Harris Interactive, asked Americans in early October which state they would most like to live in if they did not live in their current state. Americans ranked Georgia the No. 14, while the city of Atlanta ranked 13th. Georgia has consistently ranked in the top 15 since 1997 and when combined with similar polls such as the the Forbes poll that was also recently released, things are looking pretty good for the Peach State. October events in the Gardens

Jack-O-LanternThe Atlanta Botanical Gardens is the place to be this month. With Halloween right around the corner, the gardens are putting on a series of events that provide fun for any age.

The month of fun began on the first with the annual Scarecrows in the garden display. These hand-made scarecrows were hand crafted by local Atlantans and will be on display throughout the rest of the month.

After you check out the Scarecrows stick around because Thursday nights are Feast-of-Ale nights. Held each Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Feast-of-Ale helps celebrate the harvest season with a selection of seasonal brews and live music. (more…)

Best of Atlanta PartyEvery year Atlanta Magazine hosts the Best of Atlanta party. At this exceptional Atlanta event, more than 40 restaurants, all of which were voted Best of Atlanta in 2008, present samples of the food that won them this coveted title. This year’s event is on Monday, February 16th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m, and it will attract many notable Atlanta citizens as it is one of Atlanta’s premier events. This year, Kairos Development decided to get involved by being a sponsor. It’s a perfect pair to have Kairos Development and the Best of Atlanta party linked together. The Morgan Model Home at the Astoria

The Morgan KitchenThe model homes are open at the Astoria at the Aramore, which isn’t really breaking news to you. However, we have yet to go in detail to describe what you can expect to find in the model homes. These new condos in Buckhead offer an unparalleled level of luxury, and the models help illustrate that life for interested homebuyers. These models also bring to life the descriptions of the luxurious features and fine finishes found in each home. So, here is a brief description of what you can expect to find in one of the Astoria model homes. Again these are only words, so a personal tour of the model is highly encouraged so that you can see for yourself what sets these luxury Atlanta condos apart from the rest. Shelley Hall – an Atlanta interior designer – is the one who has beautifully decorated the models at the Astoria.

The Morgan model home has two bedrooms with two and one half bathrooms and 1,794 square feet of heated living space. Standard features of the spacious Morgan floorplan include hardwood floors, granite countertops, stone tile flooring in bathrooms and Thermador appliances. The Astoria at the Aramore October Completion

473236.jpgThe long wait is just about complete as the Astoria at the Aramore building will be complete and open by the end of October. The photos here are the most recent shots of the Astoria exterior, and, as you can see, these luxury Atlanta condos are just about complete. Notice the floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase beautiful views of the downtown Atlanta skyline and the Buckhead skyline. You can also see the amenities deck, which features a swimming pool, heated spa and outdoor fireplace. What you are not able to see is the completed interiors of the units. The Astoria condos were designed with the ultimate luxury in mind, which means fine finishes and intricate detail can be found throughout each home.

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity Coming to the High Museum

A Terracotta Army OfficerThe High Museum of Art is already selling tickets for the exhibit that will come to the art museum later this fall. If you have not yet heard, China’s Terracotta Army will be on display in Atlanta from November 16, 2008 to April 19, 2009. This is such a tremendous opportunity for Atlanta residents that are interested in history and culture. The First Emperor exhibition is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the High that is expected to draw tourists from all over the East Coast.  This extraordinary exhibition is inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, and includes complete terracotta warrior figures. The famed terracotta army was discovered in 1974, but over the years ongoing research has revealed that his army stood guard over a vast underground palace. It represents one of the most important groups of works relating to the First Emperor ever to be loaned to the United States, and it is coming to Atlanta. (more…)
