Atlanta Botanical Garden Presents Orchids and Art Glass
Monday, March 30th, 2009
This Sunday is your final opportunity to experience the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual Orchid Daze. This year’s Orchid Daze combines the beauty of the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s world-renowned Orchid collection with extraordinary pieces of art glass curated by Seranda Vespermann of Vespermann-Cooper Gallery. 11 well-known artists from around the United States have provided the artwork which will be available for purchase in the Garden Gift Shop. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the mission-based programs of the Garden. Don’t miss out on your chance to own a piece of this one-of-a-kind art glass. Orchid Daze ends this Sunday, April 5 and is open to the public 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Orchid Daze is held in the Fuqua Orchid Center and Fuqua Conservatory.
In addition to Orchid Daze, this weekend the Atlanta Botanical Garden will open the Fuqua Orchid Center for a unique orchid-inspired shopping experience. Shoppers can buy fresh living orchids direct from area growers as well as purchase art glass and orchid-inspired artwork by Carol Anne Sutherland, a Garden drawing instructor. Whimisical and beautiful blown glass flowers, sculptures, light fixtures and bird baths by Rozelle Morton-Bush will also be available. The Orchid Market will be open this Saturday and Sunday only from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (more…)
